About Me

Who's behind ZF, and how it actually works.

Where things stand: ZF Solutions is a single-person, early-stage setup, self-hosted and run entirely by me — genuinely still in its infancy. I'd rather tell you that upfront than oversell it. The hope is to grow it properly over time, one job done well at a time, not stay a side project forever. What you get in return: realistic solutions to the actual problem you're having, from someone who's hands-on with every recommendation on this site — not a call centre script.
How I got here

Years of doing this for free, for people I know

Years of being the unofficial tech support for family and friends — from OS installs, to hardware swaps, to just keeping things simple enough for my dad to actually use. After a long time doing this as a hobby, I've decided to branch out and hopefully help others solve the same kinds of issues.

Everything on this site — the tools list, the recommendations, this website itself — is built and tested by me, on my own systems. If I recommend it, I use it.

That "if I recommend it, I use it" isn't just talk about apps. My own home network runs through DNS-level filtering I set up and maintain myself — blocking ads and trackers before they ever reach a device. It's the same kind of setup I can put in place for you, whether that's cutting down ads on a kid's tablet or just making browsing feel a bit cleaner across the whole house.

A couple of words

From people I've actually helped

Before this was ever a proper site — just a couple of honest messages, kept as they were sent.

"Thanks for the excellent service."

— Mark

"Problem solved — thank you!"

— Joanne
